Ingredients
2 cups fresh cranberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces ladyfingers or pound cake, cut into cubes
1/2 cup toasted almonds, chopped
Directions
Combine fresh cranberries, cranberry juice, liqueur, sugar, orange peel, and cinnamon (if ussing0 in a 5-quart stainless steel or enameled Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently, then reduce heat to maintain a simmer. Continue cooking until most of the cranberries have popped and the mixture looks rather jammy, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, set aside until needed, up to three hours at room temperature. Remove orange peel and cinnamon stick before using.
