Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup hot coffee or hot water
For the Whipped Ganache Frosting:
8 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips or chopped semi sweet chocolate bar
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F . If using cake pans, smear a small amount of butter in the bottom of each and line the bottoms with circles of parchment. If baking on a single jelly roll pan, smear an X of butter across the center and line the bottom with parchment. Set pan aside.
