Ingredients
1/2 cup port wine
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup cherry preserves or jam
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. When foaming subsides, add shallots and cook, stirring, until softened, about 4 minutes.
