Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 cups grated Gruyere cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions

In a small saucepan, combine cream, milk, garlic, shallots, nutmeg, thyme, peppercorns, and salt. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 1 hour.
