Butter
Directions
Cut the butter into small cubes and place in a medium saucepan over low heat. Allow the butter to melt slowly, stirring occasionally to ensure even melting. Once melted, increase the heat to medium-high and bring the butter to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface with a spoon or fine mesh strainer. Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth or paper towels and place it over a bowl or jar. Carefully pour the clarified butter through the strainer, discarding any solids left behind in the pan. Allow the clarified butter to cool before transferring it to an airtight container for storage in the refrigerator for up to 6 months or freezer for up to 1 year.
