Baby Bump: 29 Weeks!

Pregnancy in the third trimester is kind of like symptom whack-a-mole.
When I eat, I get heartburn. When I don't eat, I worry the baby isn't getting enough nutrients. I'm anemic, so I need iron supplements, except those exacerbate a zillion things that are already very uncomfortable in my body, so I wind up just being uncomfortable all the time. Basically, that's my next ten weeks in a nutshell: uncomfortable all the time.
At the end of the day, I get back pain from carrying around this little bowling ball that's sitting in my belly, and don't even get me started on the possibility of bending over, because that will never happen again, ever.
Seriously, if it were not for our three dogs, our floor would be covered in little snacks and crumbs that I've dropped and decided it wasn't worth bending over to pick them up. Thank you, dogs, for picking up the slack on that one!
On the other hand, I'm starting to wonder if I might be classified as one of those women who love being pregnant. I know, it's totally weird. I don't consider myself particularly maternal, and I always figured that I was way to selfish and vain to actually enjoy a process that basically wreaks havoc on your body for the better part of a year.
But, still, I'm starting to wonder. Because his little kicks (and rolls and flips and lung-jabs) are pretty amazing. And because it's so crazy to think that I grew another human being out of thin air, and all it really cost me was some heartburn and back pain. It's really a pretty awe-inspiring process, and I know I'm a broken record on this, but I'm so grateful to have experienced it.
On the other hand, will you find me by the pool with a glass of wine and a plate of unpasteurized cheese the day I'm released from the hospital?
Unquestionably. And that's going to be the Best. Afternoon. Ever.
How far along? 29 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 19 pounds. I haven't gained much this month, and I'm planning to ask my doctor about it at the next visit. My belly has definitely gotten bigger, but the numbers on the scale seem to have stalled lately.
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants and a few tops, although most of my regular tops still fit fine.
Stretch marks? Still no!
Symptoms: Heartburn, nightmares, back pain.
Sleep: See above. Boooo sleep.
Best moment this week: Realizing that in just a few short weeks, I'll be out of maternity clothes and back into normal clothes! I can't wait!
Worst moment of the week: So much physical discomfort lately. Sigh!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Control over my body.
Movement: Lots!
Food cravings: Twizzlers continued to be a big craving for me this week, only I was too lazy to actually go out and buy them. When I finally went out to buy Valentine's Day supplies, CVS didn't have them! I finally bought a one-pound bag at the grocery store and have slowly been working my way through it. (Yum!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Have you started to show yet: YES!
Labor Signs: Nope, but still having some Braxton Hicks contractions.
Belly Button in or out? In, but any day now, that could change.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Finalizing the nursery (I have an awesome DIY tutorial coming up!) and my baby shower!
