Baby Bump: 28 Weeks!

I never thought of myself as one of those people who would enjoy being pregnant -- at best, I thought I'd be able to sort of forget that I was pregnant for nine or so months, and then tune back in when it came time to hold my newborn. But as these weeks have gone on, I'm surprised to say: being pregnant isn't so bad.
At least, not for me. I know I'm extremely lucky to have had a *very* easy pregnancy, with only minor discomforts and no big scares (knock on wood, fingers crossed). But as I'm settling into the home stretch, I have to say: I could never have predicted it and I'm still a little shocked, but being pregnant is actually pretty great.
Oh, don't worry. I have heartburn and back pain and all those aches that every third-trimester mom-to-be has. When these nine months are over, I'll be thrilled to rediscover my waistline (hopefully) and enjoy a glass of wine by the pool.
But for those of you who are a little like me, who think the idea of being pregnant sounds a little horrifying (you spend nine months without wine and cheese and get fat, and at the end you get to go through labor?!), you can take my word for it:
Not So Bad.
A ringing endorsement if I ever heard one. :-)
How far along? 28 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 18.5 pounds. Weight gain has been a little slower lately, but I think that's pretty normal for the third trimester.
Maternity clothes? Maternity jeans for sure (this Joe's Jeans pair has been my favorite pair throughout my pregnancy -- the same style is available as non-maternity jeans here).
Stretch marks? Still no! I left my belly oil at home when I was in NY for Fashion Week, so I actually used my facial moisturizer instead! Fortunately, no stretch marks still.
Symptoms: Heartburn that's completely awful, nightmares, general aches and back pain.
Sleep: See above. Boooo sleep.
Best moment this week: Being in New York for Fashion Week! I was nervous about the travel, but everything went so smoothly and I had SUCH A BLAST. I'm so glad that I went and I would have been really bummed to miss it!
Worst moment of the week: Not being able to sleep in my hotel room! Between my gross heartburn and NYC's ambient noise, I hardly got more than two straight hours all week.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Balance! I can hardly bend over to put on my shoes at this point. It doesn't feel like I'm *that* big yet but my center of gravity has completely shifted.
Movement: Lots!
Food cravings: Salads and candy. I was getting into bed last night and suddenly needed Twizzlers NOW. But we didn't have any, it was 11 o'clock at night, and the idea of going out for them seemed insane. So I went to bed instead. Pregnancy FAIL!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Have you started to show yet: YES!
Labor Signs: Nope, although I've definitely had Braxton Hicks contractions for the past few weeks.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it's starting to look a little stretched out.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: My baby shower in just a few weeks!
