updated classics (or, talbots goes hipster)

The one thing that's annoying about drastically changing my hair is that now it's totally obvious when I'm posting outfits that are a few weeks old!

This one is actually from last weekend, but I loved it so much that I had to post, even if it doesn't capture my new blonde-ness.

So first, seriously. Would you believe these shorts are from Talbots? When they offered to send me a pair of silk shorts, I was excited to take a new look at their store. I tend to think of Talbot's as being a better store for my grandmother to shop in than it is for me, but these shorts have basically proved me wrong. I actually cuffed them myself, but I could totally see wearing them longer too. Their recent lookbooks have been terrific, and it's great to see how they've updated the classic pieces they're known for.

I had such a fun, whirlwind weekend -- went out to Long Island to just a cook-off between two amazing chefs for Cadillac, and then out to Governor's Island with the Rebecca Minkoff team for a Jazz-Age theme party! Can't wait to post pictures of both, they were so much fun!
