style: sheer blue

So, I have very few photos of this blog that feature either of my dogs. Coco managed to sneak into the photo for my shoot for JILLE a few months ago, and Calvin pulled a pretty amazing maneuver trying to get a taste of my Yule Log recipe back in 2007 (how cute is that picture?). But in general, my adorable puppies have made it onto this site very little.

So during a particularly chilly afternoon, I decided to experiment a little bit with taking some indoor photos, and when Calvin climbed onto the couch to join me, I figured it was a good time for him to get into one of my posts! Our dogs have no boundaries -- they sleep in bed with us, and Calvin has a seriously un-dog-like penchant for stealing my pillow. So it makes perfect sense for him to be on Sugarlaws, right?

After seeing so many sheer fabrics during fashion week, I figured I could start with a sheer navy (a little less terrifying than sheer skin tones, thank you) with this black bandeau underneath. Not sure if I'll ever have the guts to wear this particular outfit outside of my apartment, but we'll see -- even if I'm still a little terrified of sheer shirts, this gorgeous Breil necklace will be getting quite a bit of use!
