style: ready for my close up

Last week, I went to the launch of Dior.com, for the Christian Dior beauty line. The lovely Jen of The Gloss took this photo, and I'm a little bit obsessed with it. Someday, I may very well be cool enough to deserve a team of makeup artists, but for now, I'm happy to have a photo that at least looks as though I am.

And the same night, I had so much fun styling a model in Tory Burch's resort collection. But here's the deal -- we were allowed to choose a surf or ski look, and I chose an après-ski look, for the hot tub after skiing, complete with big furry boots and a cute bathing suit. We went skiing twice last winter, and you know what is without a doubt the best part of a ski vacation? That's right, the hot tub.

But what I didn't quite understand, when I styled this look, was the background of the photo. We shot this against a whiteboard, so I didn't totally get that the "ski" look was literally, um, on the hill. So, this poor girl. On the plus side, she is absolutely gorgeous. On the minus side, she'll probably lose some fingers and toes from hypothermia in the photo below.
