sparkles and sunshine

Houston is just about to get a taste of all this arctic weather that the rest of the country has been dealing with, so Chad and I are bundled up for the night with plenty of snacks for tomorrow, in case we get snowed in. It hasn't snowed in the 2 1/2 years that we've lived here, but I'm told that driving is incredibly scary because no one knows how to drive in snow and ice -- so I'm definitely hoping to keep all of us all off the roads if the weather gets that bad.

But I feel a little silly writing that while looking at these pictures, because a week and a half ago, when I took them, it was literally seventy degrees on a bright, sunny Saturday. I got this dress a few years ago, and I'm pretty much convinced that it will never go out of style. The rose-colored sequins make it a little more glam-night-out and way less New-Year's-Eve, and I've worn it to weddings in the middle of the summer without batting an eye. But I loved making it a little more casual with this cute Rebecca Minkoff clutch -- it's even monogrammed!
