Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup lightly packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup flour )
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dark/semi-sweet chocolate chips,
- 1/2 cup nutella )
Directions
- Heat your oven to 350° F | 175°C. Line a 9" cast iron skillet, or a pie dish, with baking/parchment paper, then put it to the side.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until the mixture looks pale and creamy. Add the egg and whisk again just until it’s worked in.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl, then stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture only until the dough comes together. Fold through half of the chocolate chips, then spoon 1/2 the cookie dough into the prepared skillet.
- Warm the Nutella in the microwave for 30 seconds, just until it loosens up and is easier to spread. Spoon it over the cookie dough, spreading it evenly and stopping 1-inch from the edges.
- Add the remaining cookie dough on top, using the back of a metal spoon to smooth it out, and your fingers too if that’s what gets the job done. Scatter the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes if you want it gooey. For a more set cookie, cover it with aluminium foil after 30 minutes and bake for a further 10 minutes. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
