new york fashion week: day seven

The thing no one tells you about fashion week is that the "week" is actually eight days, and nine if you factor in the conferences that take place the day before! So as I close in on the end of fashion week-and-a-half, there tend to be fewer shows every day, but more heavy hitters that choose those days.
When I got to the tents for Elie Tahari, I was so excited -- involuntarily missing a day of shows kind of made me forget about how much my feet hurt and how tired I was, and just be excited all over again to be there.
And the show was amazing! The first ten or so looks were a mix of white and neutral basics with bright gold accessories, and they couldn't have been more chic. I wonder if designers are starting to come back to neutrals, after being so saturated in color last season (color blocking, neon, there are too many color-infused trends to count). There was something so incredibly fresh about seeing these beautifully cut white, tan and muted orange pieces come down the runway, paired with incredible gold accents -- I wanted every piece.
I came back to NYFW with a bang, though -- before the show, I went over to the B Brian Atwood showroom for a sneak peek at his new collection (they kindly sent over an amazing pair of patent pumps -- in a perfect-for-fall neutral tan, yay -- that I wore to the event)! And the best part of the night: apparently Brian will pick out the "B Girl" in any room, and everyone agreed that in my coppery-rose sequin dress, I was the B Girl of the night! I couldn't have gotten a better compliment.
One show to go, an then this amazing week is over! Be sure to check out the rest of my pics from the Elie Tahari show on Facebook!
