loose and cool

Last Friday, my friend Kristen and I headed out into the far edges of Brooklyn, to see a play that a friend of mine from college had written. I'm not one of those Manhattan-ites who refuses to go to Brooklyn (at all), but the slight change of scenery gave me a reason to pick out a different outfit than I'd usually go for.

It was also about 85 degrees, so this loose, comfy Madewell top and jean shorts were basically a given. The ponytail was just because I was experimenting, but isn't it kind of fun?  And I stalked these shoes at Zara for about a week before I finally found them in my size -- and now I refuse to take them off, because they're gorgeous and shockingly comfortable.

And to prove how much I love this look, I basically wore it the whole rest of the weekend.  When summer finally hits, all I want are easy, stylish basics for casual parties, shopping, running errands, snuggling at home with the pups -- this could work for any of it. Call me in September, because I might be ready to take a day off from this style.
