I've never seen her in person before -- I'd be lying if I denied getting butterflies when I saw her sitting across the aisle.

This was just before Derek Lam's show began -- a serious fashion show, with a serious fashion A-list front row. So many thanks to Estée Lauder for inviting me, and letting me go backstage beforehand to see Tom Pecheux, their genius creative director, create the models' flawless, fresh-faced looks. I have so many pictures to show you guys!

And as you guys all know, today is a very sad day. There's no easy way to juxtapose the loss that so many people suffered ten years ago and fashion week, but it wasn't lost on anyone today, least of all me. I was still in college during September 11th, but I remember that morning like it was yesterday. To all of you who lost family and friends, I know this day is a sad reminder of something that never should happened, and should never be forgotten.
