lately

So, while I've been off traveling for NYFW and Miami, one member of our little family has been kind of under the weather: Calvin. Our poor little maltipoo puppy (he's seven, so not really a puppy anymore, but we still call him that) was just diagnosed with diabetes. We've started him on insulin shots and are looking into other possibilities for potentially making him a little happier and healthier, but it's still a really, truly terrifying wake-up call to the possibility that our little dogs may not live forever, as much as I'd give anything to make them.

But. Calvin has many, many years ahead of him, and we're all adjusting to it a little bit. The shots are no fun, but it's awesome to see how quickly he's gone from sleepy and lethargic to his old, playful, rascally self. Please send us good thoughts to help Calvin adjust safely and quickly!

I was thinking about driving up to Austin for South by Southwest this past weekend, but between Calvin being sick and Chad's birthday, I figured I was better off spending it at home. We had an amazing, totally low key few days of yummy dinners, birthday cake (lots) and Rock Band. Just what I needed after February's total insanity.
