home sweet home

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you've probably seen some of my amazing photos from our beach vacation! I'm still sorting through the hundreds of photos I took with my real (non-phone) camera, so I'll probably post those later in the week!

It was such an amazing trip -- after a crazy stressful year of buying our house, jobs, cars, learning the ropes of life in Houston (side note: I'm in Houston Magazine this month! Go pick it up and see me!) and everything else, we've been in desperate need of a vacation. A real do-nothing, lay-on-the-beach, chill-24-7 vacation.

And that's what we got! We went to Cabo and just loved it. The beaches were beautiful, the food was amazing, the weather, the travel -- everything was just perfect.

But the highlight of the whole trip, hands down, was that the hotel, after I tweeted to them, found my blog and decided to create a special surprise! When we came home to our room one night, we found a cake made in the shape of my iPhone case, which is a Sugarlaws sketch! I couldn't believe my eyes -- I actually teared up a little. I couldn't believe they'd do such a sweet, lovely thing! It was such an incredible trip and you'll be seeing more of my photos soon, but for now:

And because I know the obvious question is "Where did you stay?", I'll tell you. We stayed at the One and Only Palmilla, which was mind-bogglingly beautiful and I will go back in a heartbeat. I'm already counting down the days!
