A few weeks ago, Banana Republic invited a number of style bloggers to get all dolled up in sixties hair and makeup and their Mad Men-inspired collection!
I was completely obsessed with this whole look -- and before you get all excited for the tutorial, I've tried to recreate this look (which was done by a very talented professional) with no luck so far.
Chad and I are total Mad Men addicts, and if you know the show as well as I do, you'll probably remember the outfit that I was channeling when I put this look together: this one, from the episode where Betty and Don go to Rome and she ditches her suburban housewife clothes for something a little more glam. My breath caught when she came onto the screen in this episode -- in part because there's no one on earth more beautiful than January Jones (even when I hate her character, she's still so beautiful it hurts).
The ladylike trend is back in full force (thank you, Kate Middleton), so it was fun to get dressed up in an era where "ladylike" wasn't a trend.
Thank you so much to Banana Republic for inviting us, and double thanks to Keiko for keeping me company when my hair was getting done and snapping these pictures!

And for what I wore the rest of the day (also snapped by Keiko):
