COVERGIRL lip perfection: days 3 and 4

So, I woke up on Day Three and decided to channel my inner grunge rocker a little bit. Here's the funny thing, though -- while I'd usually go straight to the smoky eye, I've been obsessed with the purple liner that COVERGIRL sent me for one of my Oscars looks, so I decided on that instead. And since I was going for a more neutral makeup look, I stuck to a sparkly coral-type shade of Lip Perfection called Rapture.

But for Day Four, I decided to branch out a little bit. I'm always looking for the perfect shade of red lipstick, and this one is COVERGIRL's "Flame." I get really self-conscious wearing a super-bright lipstick, so I had to fight the urge to blot this into neutral territory after I put it on. But I loved it! I was exhausted from waking up super-early for meetings all week (you can kind of tell in the picture) but the lipstick totally gave me a much-needed jolt of rejuvenation. And even with a simple outfit like an oversized sweater and jeans, this was totally put together and cute.

And... even better, four days in my lips were already in better shape! Going into this, my lips were so terribly dry and chapped that I was kind of hoping for a miracle. I was a little skeptical that lipstick could actually help (especially because I already slathered them with supposedly good-for-you chapstick every few hours), but I really noticed an improvement! Which is a good thing, because super-chapped, bright red lips? Not cute. Not cute at all.
