love, love, love it all

I seriously need to move somewhere it's warm year-round. Once summer hits, I'm such a happier person -- it's like I'm suddenly in a good mood all the time, and everything just seems so much better.

I bought this top at Zara on Thursday, and I basically wore it nonstop until Saturday night when I spilled something on it when we were out to dinner -- not a giant stain, but I'm still working on how to get it out. I've tried a stain pen, and the tag says not to take it to the dry cleaners, so next I'm going to stick it in the washing machine (fingers crossed).

Somehow this inevitably happens every time I find some piece of clothing I totally love, sigh! I wish I could resist wearing them out to dinner!

On the opposite side of the spectrum is this bag, which I bought for the Emmy Awards last August and have probably only carried once or twice since then!

I keep it wrapped in tissue paper in my closet, because it's one of the most expensive items I own. It's hard when you love something so much you're afraid to wear it, but at the same time, I'm terrified of anything happening to it! Hopefully this summer I'll be able to give it some fun days (or nights) out.

But the thing I really need to discuss in this outfit is the makeup! This purple smokey eye look is my new absolute favorite -- so cute and versatile, not too dark for everyday, but still a little glam. And purple eyeshadow goes with basically every eye color and skin tone, so it's a terrific look to try.
