I had such a fun weekend -- exactly what I needed before launching into a hugely busy week. Amazing brunch at Mercer Kitchen, some fun dinners at our favorite neighborhood spots, a little shopping, a spray tan (my second ever -- booked for $25 on Lifebooker!) and all capped off with a trip to see Harry Potter in 3d with Kristen! I could have maybe done without the rainy Saturday and Sunday nights (as I type this, Coco is trembling next to me), but overall a perfect little break from the usual insanity.
I found this Joie dress and these Elizabeth and James heels at Saks the same day -- hugely on sale, so I couldn't resist picking both of them up! I was originally going to save this whole outfit until Fashion Week, but I broke it out on Wednesday for the Cosmopolitan Summer Splash! It's such a perfect style for those hot days in early fall -- warm September colors, light and loose August fabric and design.
A quick word on my hair in this post, because I did two things to get it: First, I wore my hair in a loose bun for hours, backcombed slightly for extra volume (I have a tutorial on this coming up soon -- you can see a picture here if you want a preview). Once you take it down, it falls into loose, pretty curls (I combed them out slightly for smoothness). Second, after I took it down, I parted my hair on the opposite of my usual side and flipped it over -- instant amazing volume!
