What's more New Year's-themed than a really dramatic smoky eye? Just like everything glam, dark eyes are perfect for a scandalous night out (or even a night at home on the couch, if that's your plan)!
Earlier this week, I braved the NYC blizzard to attend the launch party of this awesome zillion-color makeup palette, where I got my makeup done by an actual pro (using the palette, of course). I loved, loved, loved the smoky eye she did on me, so the next day, I decided to try to recreate the look for you guys, using the palette I received in the gift bag.
I used the white glittery shadow from the Boho Bombshell section of the palette, and the sparkly black and greys from the Black is the New Black section. Using a small makeup brush, I lined the inner corner of each eye with the white shadow, to about 1/3 of the way across the eye. Then I lined my top and bottom eyelids with black pencil eyeliner. For the top eyelid, I blended the grey shadow into the black shadow, lighter towards the nose and darker towards the outside of the eye. I finished off the look with my fake eyelashes, because when you're doing a look like this, there's no going halfway.
Hope you guys have an awesome night tonight, whether you're ringing in 2011 in sequins or pajamas! 2010 has been a crazy, exciting whirlwind for me, and I hope 2011 will be even better!
On me: Kenneth Jay Lane earrings, J. Crew headband, Forever 21 tank top. For makeup, I used this Sephora/Shopbop palette and these Makeup For Ever lashes (the Carolyn style).
