beach-bound

I don't know if it's the impending arrival of summer or what, but lately I have been craving the beach like crazy. I'm writing up this post about 14 hours before Chad and I leave for a vacation in Mexico, and all I can think about is laying on the beach, doing absolutely nothing for the next five days.

But I was feeling the same way a few weeks ago, and decided to make the trek out to the closest beach to Houston, which is only about an hour away! I can't say it had the white-sand-pristine-natural-beauty that I was hoping for (it was heavy on the rocks, light on the beach, and is it me or was the water a little... brown?) but at least it held me over till we got on the plane.

The last real, relaxing beach vacation that we took was more than 18 months ago, so this is long overdue! I can wait to come back refreshed and energized -- nothing makes me feel excited and creative like taking a few days of real R&R.
